Caramoan Episode 13

Can any action be viewed as selfless at this stage in the game? The "Loved Ones" episodes are always full of overflowing emotion and fraught with this type of quandary. Some have actively avoided winning just so they do not have to make the tough choices. Brenda faced a tough choice: Do I risk making my competitors stronger by giving the reward away to the larger group or focus on the ones that are closest to me? She may have figured that Dawn was strong enough to handle the repercussions, but it might have been the excuse that Dawn was looking for to turn on her. How significant do you think Cochran's role was in turning the tide against Brenda? Will Brenda's hurt feelings come back to haunt them?

We are down to the final five and surprisingly, there are still two "Fans" in the game. Do Eddie or Sherri have a shot at the $1m? Who has been riding coattails and who has been actively working to get themselves to the end? What is your pick for the final four order?

Here is the tribe after episode 13.
Madeline:Cochran, Dawn, Eddie, Erik, and Sherri

Caramoan Episode 12

We got a double elimination episode where one fan and one fav left the game. That seems fair. The fracturing of the majority alliance has finally started. They did great to hold it to together this long, especially if they made loyalty a center piece of the plan. Looks like Cochran, the challenge monster, met his match in the form of three hot dogs and a soda. We already knew that knots were a form of kryptonite for him too. As the self professed, last "independent thinker" left in the game, do you think he might be next to go? I hate to say it, but I think we're missing a challenge with tile breaking. Where's the pecking order challenge that will help everyone see where they stand? Will we get some of that from the family visit where the winner has to pick someone to join them?

Do you think there is a chance that one of the fans will make it to the end? Who do you see as the most likely final three? Who are the least likely? Who does Erik need to eliminate next to improve his chances? Did Brenda go overboard with the three hour immunity challenge performance? Do you think Dawn can hold it together long enough to get to the end?

Here is the tribe after episode 12.

Caramoan Episode 11

Cheering for the underdogs is fun, but the phrase "against all odds" often goes hand in hand with it. The odds finally ran out for the three amigos this week. Thirty days is a great run, especially when you spent all that time on the outside of almost all the alliances. We were hoping for more surprises this week to keep the excitement amped up, but were happy to see the auction and a classic Survivor endurance challenge that's balanced for everyone, unless you are smart and savvy enough to buy an advantage at the auction. Congrats to the ginger Kobayashi on his second Immunity win!

What did you think of Erik and Sherri's choice to stay with the majority alliance? If you are fifth and sixth in a six person alliance, when is the right time to make your move for a shot at the final three? Who is your pick for final four now? Can you see any hope for Reynold and Eddie?

Here is the tribe after episode 11.

Caramoan Episode 10

Wow, wow, wow! They actually did it. They said it would be a historic moment and Malcolm made it happen. Ok, maybe this season will redeem itself after all. This one had a little bit of everything. Everyone had a role to play in Episode 10. Dawn cried, brayed, lost her teeth, and cried some more. Brenda was a hero and retrieved the teeth. Cochran turned on Dawn and declared himself a challenge monster. Sherri made sure no one would consider her a threat in the challenges. Andrea declared her over confidence. Eddie stayed positive, and it payed off. Reynold dominated the challenges, again. Malcolm found yet another OPII, played two, and made a dream come true. Erik may have stolen the show when he switched alliances.

What is next for the three amigos? Do you think any of them have a chance? What is next for Sherri and Erik? Do you see any advantage for them to switch alliances? Do you think Dawn will able to hold on? How will the season change now that Phillip is gone? Who do you think will save their money for the advantage in the auction? Who is in your final three now?

Here is the new, merged tribe after episode 10.

Caramoan Episode 8

Let the blindsides begin! The feud between Corrine and Phillip has been settled. Lucky for secret agent underpants that Dawn is so sentimental about the anniversary of her undoing back in Survivor South Pacific courtesy of Cochran. If she had not already been so anxious and maudlin, she might have welcomed Corrine's plan and saw it as a way to move up the chain above Andrea. At least she took some action this time. Looks like Dawn has grown from her previous experience. You don't have to be a Cochran fan to be happy for his win tonight. That was a truly impressive display of eating prowess.

Now that the favs have turned on each other, do you think the chances look better for the fans? What's a plausible cover story for Malcolm? Where do you see Brenda and Erik in the favs alliance? Is there still a chance they could flip? How do you think Malcolm and Reynold should play the OPIIs?

Here is the new, merged tribe after episode 8.

Caramoan Episode 7

It takes a lot of energy to maintain a delusion. This week, it looked like Phillip's fantasy world had really started to take a toll on him. It was a great testament to his strength that he lasted to day 17, but had he been forced to stay in separate tribes for much longer, it might have been the end of his game. Of course, that kind of weakness could become a strength at the merge when it does not pay to stand out as a physical threat. For all the time wasted on Phillip's charades, it was great to see underdog Malcolm make some progress on increasing his chances to make it to the end. What do you think about the possibility of that fantastic four making it to the end together?

Do you think Phillip threw the challenge, or is his world starting to fall apart a little? Who do you think will be impacted the most by the merge? Will anyone's chances to make it to the end dramatically improve? Will the Favs be able to hold it together? Who will win in the battle between Corinne and Phillip? How confident are you that Phillip is delusional? Would you get rid of Phillip or try to carry him to the end again as the perfect goat? With the merge imminent, who do you think will be the members of the dominant alliance?

Here are the tribes after episode 7.
New Bikal:Cochran, Corinne, Dawn, Michael, and Phillip
New Gota:Andrea, Brenda, Eddie, Erik, Malcolm , Reynold, and Sherri

Caramoan Episode 6

OK, it is high time to rescue this season. With Lazy and Crazy gone, we can get back to some classic Survivor goodness. It started with a random shuffling of the tribes. We tend to favor the schoolyard pick'em option because it also reveals a pecking order, but neither that nor random egg cracking can guarantee balanced tribes. These new tribes are about as far from balanced as you can get. It's not clear that the New Bikal tribe stands any chance of winning a physical or endurance challenge.

Who do you think will be impacted the most by the shuffle? Did anyone's chances to make it to the end dramatically improve? Will the Favs alliance hold strong across both new tribes? Who do you think will last longer: Reynold or Sherri? Will Phillip be successful in eliminating Corinne? Are Dawn and Cochran calling the shots at New Bikal? What would be your strategy for staying sane around Phillip?

Here are the tribes after episode 6.
New Bikal:Cochran, Corinne, Dawn, Julia, Michael, and Phillip
New Gota:Andrea, Brenda, Eddie, Erik, Malcolm , and Reynold, and Sherri

Caramoan Episode 5

It appears that we were not done removing the toxic castaways from season 26. Last week the fans cleaned house. This week it was the Favs turn. The casting process failed us again this season and delivered another contestant that actually wanted to quit. Brandon was on a long downward spiral and to hear him describe it, it sounded like his violent outburst was planned for quite a while. What healthy, well adjusted adult does that? They may have gone through the motions of voting, but Brandon quit well before that happened. We hope he gets the help he needs, and that we never have to see him again on our favorite TV show.

Throwing a challenge has never ended well for the tribe and controlling alliance that takes the risk. What would you have done in their situation? How do you think it will affect the Favs going forward? Reynold found the OPII, again. Do you think he will be able to resist the urge to tell anyone besides Eddie? The Favs still have an overall numerical advantage. Who do you think will be impacted the most if there is a tribal shuffle?

Here are the tribes after episode 5.
Bikal:Andrea, Brenda, Cochran, Corinne, Dawn, Erik, Malcolm and Phillip
Gota:Eddie, Julia, Matt, Michael, Reynold, and Sherri

Caramoan Episode 4

Episode four brought our first double elimination. The toxic tribemate problem in the fans tribe fixed itself, but at what cost? The fans are deep in the hole now. The favs would have to lose the next three Immunity challenges for them to go into the merge with even numbers. The future was looking very bleak for Reynold and Eddie, but now it appears that their fortunes have turned. Can the fans muster the focus to come back against a Favs tribe that appears to be firing on all cylinders in the challenges?

What do you think the future holds for Sherri, Julia, Matt and Michael? Do any of them stand a chance to make final four now? What would you choose: loyalty or physicality? Who do you think needs a tribal shuffle the most? Do you think the fans will have a better chance to win now? Who is your pick for the next one to be eliminated?

Here are the tribes after episode 4.
Bikal:Andrea, Brandon, Brenda, Cochran, Corinne, Dawn, Erik, Malcolm and Phillip
Gota:Eddie, Julia, Matt, Michael, Reynold, and Sherri

Caramoan Episode 3

Let it be noted, the alliance that many fans predicted between Corrine and Malcolm occurred on day 6. The only other person to find an idol with Malcolm won the game. Do you think history will repeat itself? Andrea is hard at work with plans to eliminate all her female competition. Meanwhile on the Fans tribe, Sherri is staying busy trying to manage and manipulate Shamar into not quitting. Luckily for her, she has "lots of experience dealing with snotty teen aged brats". She appeared to wrangle him around without even breaking a sweat.

How do you think the discovery of the OPII, Obviously Placed Immunity Idol, will affect the Malcolm and Corrine alliance? Is Corrine now next on the hit list in the Favs tribe? Who would you choose to keep on the Fans tribe, Reynold or Shamar? When is the right time to dump someone that only helps win challenges? How long could you tolerate someone that makes camp life miserable? What's your guess for when we should expect to see a tribe shuffle?

Here are the tribes after episode 3.
Bikal:Andrea, Brandon, Brenda, Cochran, Corinne, Dawn, Erik, Malcolm and Phillip
Gota:Eddie, Julia, Laura, Matt, Michael, Reynold, Shamar and Sherri
