Blood vs. Water Episode 5

The challenge gods appear to have gone out of their way to ensure that both tribes had an equal chance to win immunity this week. The fact that Tadhana had lost four in a row really was not a factor when the challenge consisted of a water slide and a ring toss game. The loss of Brad from Tadhana appeared to have a positive impact on the tribe, despite the fact that they are all bruised, bitten, scraped and poor Katie had parts of her toes falling off. The controlling alliance at Galang has done a masterful job of keeping their plans under wraps, and this week's vote out choice was a great loyalty test for Monica.

Who would you say are the biggest dark horses to win at this point? Can you envision any scenario where LauraB makes it to final three? Who do you think stands the best chance to return from RI now? Galang has a clear majority, but do you think it can withstand a tribal shuffle? Who is most likely to end up with family members still in the game at the merge?

Here are the tribes after episode 5.
Galang:Aras, Gervase, Kat, LauraB, Monica, Tina and Tyson
Tadhana:Caleb, Ciera, Hayden, Katie, and Vytas
Redemption Island:Brad, John, and LauraM

Blood vs. Water Episode 4

In yet another twist for this season, the drama we are treated to pre and post challenge at RI continues to overshadow the challenge itself. Candice has found a way to annoy and alienate both tribes, undermining her chances of a successful re-entry into the game. The dysfunctional crew at Tadhana continued their losing streak, and we were treated to some comic relief courtesy of the coconut bandits. The crown jewel of this episode was the emergence of Caleb. We were just commenting last week on how little we had heard from him. Day 10 at Tribal Council certainly changed all that. He sensed a threat, albeit incorrectly, and acted to flip the power structure of his tribe on its head. Who knows, it might be the best thing to happen to Tadhana so far.

Was there a better strategic choice John could have made with the idol clue? How do you think Brad's choices are reflecting on Monica and her standing with the controlling alliance in Galang? Who will emerge as the controlling alliance at Tadhana now that Brad has gone? Who would you most like to see return from RI? Do you think Galang will make a clean sweep of Tadhana? How would you rate Caleb's chances to make it to the end now?

Here are the tribes after episode 4.
Galang:Aras, Gervase, Kat, LauraB, LauraM, Monica, Tina and Tyson
Tadhana:Caleb, Ciera, Hayden, Katie, and Vytas
Redemption Island:Brad, Candice, and John

Blood vs. Water Episode 3

The two time quitter is finally gone, and we will not have to endure any additional pseudo drama from him this season! That alone would be cause for celebration, but this episode contained a great, vintage challenge packed with intense rivalries and surprising results. Then, it closed with a fantastic blindside as our first "loved ones" couple is now at RI where they will now have to duel each other, for a chance to return to the game.

What did you think about how Probst handled the quit? Does a castaway with a dislocated shoulder and possibly ripped tendons have a chance to win? Would you have been able to knock your family member off the platform in that challenge? How has your assessment of Aras and Vytus changed? Who has the best chance to make it back from RI? Who's in the best position to win it all based on what you've seen in these first three episodes?

Here are the tribes after episode 3.
Galang:Aras, Gervase, Kat, LauraB, LauraM, Monica, Tina and Tyson
Tadhana:Brad, Caleb, Ciera, Hayden, Katie, and Vytas
Redemption Island:Candice, John, and Marissa

Blood vs. Water Episode 2

Survivor is known for being a game that shines a light on who you really are, deep down at your core. This week, Colton's redemption story appears to have officially come to an end. He made it four days before he fell back into his old ways. The trend so far is for the returning players to score a come from behind win at the Immunity challenge. It may be unlikely for that trend to change unless we get a challenge that is primarily based on brute strength alone.

What did you think about Colton's attempt to take control of Galang? Do you think he will quit? Did the Tadhana five make the best choice to target Rachel? Do you think Tyson will take the bait and step in to rescue her? Did John make the right choice to not share the HII clue? Were you sad to see Rupert go? Who will be the next to leave the game?

Here are the tribes after episode 2.
Galang:Aras, Colton, Gervase, Kat, LauraB, LauraM, Monica, Tina and Tyson
Tadhana:Brad, Caleb, Ciera, Hayden, John, Katie and Vytas
Redemption Island:Candice, Marissa, and Rachel

Blood vs. Water Episode 1

Survivor's back for it's 27th season. The whole 0.5 day twist turned out to be a bit of a dud and basically just a vehicle for introducing the cast. We were happy to get 90 minutes to kick things off again though! There was no frantic searching for HIIs, just solid camp life and some extra insight into Ciera, Vytas and Colton's past. The returning players from Galang did great, but their loved ones really seemed to struggle with the basics.

What did you think about how the returning players and new, family members did? Who surprised you the most? Did your impressions of anyone change after you got to see them in action in this first episode? Are you buying Colton's redemption story? Did Tadhana make the best choice at Tribal Council? Who do you think will be the first to exit the game from Redemption Island?

Here are the tribes after episode 1.
Galang:Aras, Colton, Gervase, Kat, LauraB, LauraM, Monica, Tina and Tyson
Tadhana:Brad, Caleb, Ciera, Hayden, John, Katie, Rachel and Vytas
Redemption Island:Candice, Marissa, and Rupert

Caramoan Finale

Redemption Island 2 might have been a better title than Fans vs. Favorites. Of course, that is only now apparent in hindsight, and it would have been a bit of a spoiler for the fans if they had used that title. As it turned out, Cochran's redemption story was key to this whole bizarre string of events that composed season 26. He certainly earned the win. We covered the finale in Studio City, CA, had the pleasure to meet the cast and spend time with fellow super fans.

What did you think of the finale and the reunion show? Were you happy with the end result? How does Cochran compare to other Survivor winners? Where do you think his final tribal speech and defense ranks in Survivor history? Looking back in total, how does this season compare to others? What do you think about Survivor Blood vs. Water? Listener Feedback is due Wednesday, May 15th at 5pm PST.

Caramoan Episode 13

Can any action be viewed as selfless at this stage in the game? The "Loved Ones" episodes are always full of overflowing emotion and fraught with this type of quandary. Some have actively avoided winning just so they do not have to make the tough choices. Brenda faced a tough choice: Do I risk making my competitors stronger by giving the reward away to the larger group or focus on the ones that are closest to me? She may have figured that Dawn was strong enough to handle the repercussions, but it might have been the excuse that Dawn was looking for to turn on her. How significant do you think Cochran's role was in turning the tide against Brenda? Will Brenda's hurt feelings come back to haunt them?

We are down to the final five and surprisingly, there are still two "Fans" in the game. Do Eddie or Sherri have a shot at the $1m? Who has been riding coattails and who has been actively working to get themselves to the end? What is your pick for the final four order?

Here is the tribe after episode 13.
Madeline:Cochran, Dawn, Eddie, Erik, and Sherri

Caramoan Episode 12

We got a double elimination episode where one fan and one fav left the game. That seems fair. The fracturing of the majority alliance has finally started. They did great to hold it to together this long, especially if they made loyalty a center piece of the plan. Looks like Cochran, the challenge monster, met his match in the form of three hot dogs and a soda. We already knew that knots were a form of kryptonite for him too. As the self professed, last "independent thinker" left in the game, do you think he might be next to go? I hate to say it, but I think we're missing a challenge with tile breaking. Where's the pecking order challenge that will help everyone see where they stand? Will we get some of that from the family visit where the winner has to pick someone to join them?

Do you think there is a chance that one of the fans will make it to the end? Who do you see as the most likely final three? Who are the least likely? Who does Erik need to eliminate next to improve his chances? Did Brenda go overboard with the three hour immunity challenge performance? Do you think Dawn can hold it together long enough to get to the end?

Here is the tribe after episode 12.

Caramoan Episode 11

Cheering for the underdogs is fun, but the phrase "against all odds" often goes hand in hand with it. The odds finally ran out for the three amigos this week. Thirty days is a great run, especially when you spent all that time on the outside of almost all the alliances. We were hoping for more surprises this week to keep the excitement amped up, but were happy to see the auction and a classic Survivor endurance challenge that's balanced for everyone, unless you are smart and savvy enough to buy an advantage at the auction. Congrats to the ginger Kobayashi on his second Immunity win!

What did you think of Erik and Sherri's choice to stay with the majority alliance? If you are fifth and sixth in a six person alliance, when is the right time to make your move for a shot at the final three? Who is your pick for final four now? Can you see any hope for Reynold and Eddie?

Here is the tribe after episode 11.

Caramoan Episode 10

Wow, wow, wow! They actually did it. They said it would be a historic moment and Malcolm made it happen. Ok, maybe this season will redeem itself after all. This one had a little bit of everything. Everyone had a role to play in Episode 10. Dawn cried, brayed, lost her teeth, and cried some more. Brenda was a hero and retrieved the teeth. Cochran turned on Dawn and declared himself a challenge monster. Sherri made sure no one would consider her a threat in the challenges. Andrea declared her over confidence. Eddie stayed positive, and it payed off. Reynold dominated the challenges, again. Malcolm found yet another OPII, played two, and made a dream come true. Erik may have stolen the show when he switched alliances.

What is next for the three amigos? Do you think any of them have a chance? What is next for Sherri and Erik? Do you see any advantage for them to switch alliances? Do you think Dawn will able to hold on? How will the season change now that Phillip is gone? Who do you think will save their money for the advantage in the auction? Who is in your final three now?

Here is the new, merged tribe after episode 10.
Madeline:Cochran, Dawn, Andrea, Brenda, Eddie, Erik, Malcolm , Reynold, and Sherri
