Caramoan Episode 6

OK, it is high time to rescue this season. With Lazy and Crazy gone, we can get back to some classic Survivor goodness. It started with a random shuffling of the tribes. We tend to favor the schoolyard pick'em option because it also reveals a pecking order, but neither that nor random egg cracking can guarantee balanced tribes. These new tribes are about as far from balanced as you can get. It's not clear that the New Bikal tribe stands any chance of winning a physical or endurance challenge.

Who do you think will be impacted the most by the shuffle? Did anyone's chances to make it to the end dramatically improve? Will the Favs alliance hold strong across both new tribes? Who do you think will last longer: Reynold or Sherri? Will Phillip be successful in eliminating Corinne? Are Dawn and Cochran calling the shots at New Bikal? What would be your strategy for staying sane around Phillip?

Here are the tribes after episode 6.
New Bikal:Cochran, Corinne, Dawn, Julia, Michael, and Phillip
New Gota:Andrea, Brenda, Eddie, Erik, Malcolm , and Reynold, and Sherri

Caramoan Episode 5

It appears that we were not done removing the toxic castaways from season 26. Last week the fans cleaned house. This week it was the Favs turn. The casting process failed us again this season and delivered another contestant that actually wanted to quit. Brandon was on a long downward spiral and to hear him describe it, it sounded like his violent outburst was planned for quite a while. What healthy, well adjusted adult does that? They may have gone through the motions of voting, but Brandon quit well before that happened. We hope he gets the help he needs, and that we never have to see him again on our favorite TV show.

Throwing a challenge has never ended well for the tribe and controlling alliance that takes the risk. What would you have done in their situation? How do you think it will affect the Favs going forward? Reynold found the OPII, again. Do you think he will be able to resist the urge to tell anyone besides Eddie? The Favs still have an overall numerical advantage. Who do you think will be impacted the most if there is a tribal shuffle?

Here are the tribes after episode 5.
Bikal:Andrea, Brenda, Cochran, Corinne, Dawn, Erik, Malcolm and Phillip
Gota:Eddie, Julia, Matt, Michael, Reynold, and Sherri

Caramoan Episode 4

Episode four brought our first double elimination. The toxic tribemate problem in the fans tribe fixed itself, but at what cost? The fans are deep in the hole now. The favs would have to lose the next three Immunity challenges for them to go into the merge with even numbers. The future was looking very bleak for Reynold and Eddie, but now it appears that their fortunes have turned. Can the fans muster the focus to come back against a Favs tribe that appears to be firing on all cylinders in the challenges?

What do you think the future holds for Sherri, Julia, Matt and Michael? Do any of them stand a chance to make final four now? What would you choose: loyalty or physicality? Who do you think needs a tribal shuffle the most? Do you think the fans will have a better chance to win now? Who is your pick for the next one to be eliminated?

Here are the tribes after episode 4.
Bikal:Andrea, Brandon, Brenda, Cochran, Corinne, Dawn, Erik, Malcolm and Phillip
Gota:Eddie, Julia, Matt, Michael, Reynold, and Sherri

Caramoan Episode 3

Let it be noted, the alliance that many fans predicted between Corrine and Malcolm occurred on day 6. The only other person to find an idol with Malcolm won the game. Do you think history will repeat itself? Andrea is hard at work with plans to eliminate all her female competition. Meanwhile on the Fans tribe, Sherri is staying busy trying to manage and manipulate Shamar into not quitting. Luckily for her, she has "lots of experience dealing with snotty teen aged brats". She appeared to wrangle him around without even breaking a sweat.

How do you think the discovery of the OPII, Obviously Placed Immunity Idol, will affect the Malcolm and Corrine alliance? Is Corrine now next on the hit list in the Favs tribe? Who would you choose to keep on the Fans tribe, Reynold or Shamar? When is the right time to dump someone that only helps win challenges? How long could you tolerate someone that makes camp life miserable? What's your guess for when we should expect to see a tribe shuffle?

Here are the tribes after episode 3.
Bikal:Andrea, Brandon, Brenda, Cochran, Corinne, Dawn, Erik, Malcolm and Phillip
Gota:Eddie, Julia, Laura, Matt, Michael, Reynold, Shamar and Sherri

Caramoan Episode 2

They may have skipped the HII quest in episode one, but it was certainly back in for episode 2. The producers appear to have reverted to the simplistic hiding strategy they used in Samoa. If a castaway spends that little time and effort and finds it, was it really hidden to begin with? Both tribes have their burdens to bear, but the fans may actually have it worse than the favs at this point. At least Phillip is not screaming at anyone yet and works hard around camp even if it is just thinking up clever names for everyone in his alliance.

How do you think the discovery and production of the HII will affect the Fans alliance of 6? Will it be enough to sway Michael and Matt back to the cool kids? Who is your next pick to be voted off the Favs tribe? When is the right time to dump someone that only helps win challenges but otherwise makes camp life miserable?

Here are the tribes after episode 2.
Bikal:Andrea, Brandon, Brenda, Cochran, Corinne, Dawn, Erik, Malcolm and Phillip
Gota:Eddie, Hope, Julia, Laura, Matt, Michael, Reynold, Shamar and Sherri

Caramoan Episode 1

Survivor's back for it's 26th season, and we think it's off to a great start. We're big fans of extended episodes and wish every one was two hours long, but we were certainly happy to get 90 minutes to kick things off! We actually heard from all 20 castaways. In another rare turn of events, we did not see anyone out searching for the HII. The Favs did great to dominate the first challenge, but the Fans got fire with a jumbo version of the bamboo fire saw that was almost equally impressive. Francesca made history but not in a way that she will ever be proud of.

What did you think about how the returning players and new castaways did? Who surprised you the most? Did your impressions of anyone change after you got to see them in action in this first episode? Do you think the "popular kids" alliance will take control of the Fans? Will Brenda, Brandon, and Erik be the next ones booted from the Favs tribe?

Here are the tribes after episode 1.
Bikal:Andrea, Brandon, Brenda, Cochran, Corinne, Dawn, Erik, Malcolm and Phillip
Gota:Allie, Eddie, Hope, Julia, Laura, Matt, Michael, Reynold, Shamar and Sherri

Philippines Finale

Wow, what a season! This is the first time we can think of where we would have been happy with any of the final four winning. Even the finale held some surprises when it came to the final immunity challenge and the jury questions. We had a great time covering the finale in Hollywood. There were lots of stand out moments and it was a pleasure to meet the cast in person and spend time with fellow fans of the show.

What did you think of the finale and the reunion show? Were you happy with the result? How does Denise compare to other Survivor winners? How did the season as a whole compare with your favorites? Was this a bitter jury? Were you happy with the winner of Player of the Season? How big a role do you think starting with 3 tribes had on our enjoyment of this season? What do you think about Survivor Caramoan: Fans vs. Favorites? Who would be on your list of returning players? Listener Feedback is due by Wednesday, December 19th at 5pm PST.

We've got several ways you can reach us. You can call and leave a voicemail at 206-350-1547. You can record an audio comment and attach it or just type up a quick text message and send it to us via email at joannandstacyshow@gmail.com. The final Listener Feedback show will be on Wednesday, December 19th. Feedback will be due by 5pm PST.

Congratulations to Chaos from Utah and Enrico from the Philippines who tied for winner of Survivor Philippines JSFL!

Philippines Episode 13

This episode could have easily been titled: Surprise! It started with Abi expressing what sounded like her sincere thanks to her tribemates for keeping her over Carter. The next big one came when Skupin won reward and picked Malcolm to join him. Then Malcolm surprised us by wasting no time in throwing Denise under the bus. They just kept coming. Denise is in terrible pain and might go out on a medical. Abi looked like the perfect goat to take to the end. But the biggest surprise of all was that Lisa was back and playing the game like never before. The "Justice Jumpstart" was still in full effect. She did not let their inability to blindside Malcolm deter her from her mission to make it to the end. Surprise, she didn't even cry once this episode!

We are down to the end now. What happens to Malcolm if he does not win the last Immunity challenges? Do you think anyone can beat Denise if she makes it to the final tribal council? How significant is it that Skupin is the only returning player to make it this far? Has anyone struggled as much as Lisa to make it here? There are four Tandang in jury. Does that automatically give Skupin and Lisa and advantage? What's your final four order?

You can record an audio comment and attach it or just type up a quick text message and send it to us via email at joannandstacyshow@gmail.com. Philippines Episode 12

This episode continued the trend of having the person that needed to win immunity the most actually making it happen. You have to give Abi credit for trying. The odds are really against her, she appears to have no allies left in the game, but she keeps working every angle she can think of to stay in the game. The family visit often times has the potential to really rescue someone's game plan. Lisa's brother seemed to really help her understand the threat that Penner tried and failed to get her to see. What did you think about this one? What stood out for you as the funny or odd moments of this episode?

Can anyone make a case for beating Malcolm? Does Abi still have value as a final two goat now that we have already heard so much talk about how she can not win? How do you see the final four order playing out? Who's game has improved the most over the course of the season? Did you think Lisa and Skupin really would have blindsided Malcolm? Who do you think will be the next to be voted out?

Here is the merged tribe after episode 12.

Philippines Episode 10

Now that the evil trio were not calling the shots, it was time for the "good guys" to step in and take charge. Lisa finally dumped Abi, and it was certainly interesting to see how Abi managed that as well as all the information she received at tribal council about how she is perceived by others. We got to see her and Pete scramble like never before, but it was too little too late. Who do you think did the most work to improve their chances to win this week? As Penner explained to Abi, she is not going to win now, but does that fact change her value to her tribemates? .

Does it make the most sense to eliminate Abi next? Do you think Penner missed a big opportunity? What did you think of the new final four alliance? Do you think they will last till the end? Who is most likely to cause it to fall apart? Who wins in a final two scenario between Skupin and Malcolm? How about Skupin and Denise? Who do you think will be the next to be voted out?

Here is the merged tribe after episode 10.
