SFP Interview: Castoff from Episode 8 of Survivor Caramoan

This week we interviewed Corinne Kaplan. She left the game in episode 8 of Survivor Caramoan. We have been looking for Corinne to return for several years now, and it was great to have her back in all her snarky glory. We were very excited about the potential of the alliance with Malcolm too. It was sad to see her exit this early when she fell victim to sharing too much information with another member of her alliance.

Listen to this interview to hear how a veteran player chooses who they will trust in the game, her thoughts on how Dawn and Cochran are playing, the missing scenes she wished had been shown and lots more!

Caramoan Episode 8

Let the blindsides begin! The feud between Corrine and Phillip has been settled. Lucky for secret agent underpants that Dawn is so sentimental about the anniversary of her undoing back in Survivor South Pacific courtesy of Cochran. If she had not already been so anxious and maudlin, she might have welcomed Corrine's plan and saw it as a way to move up the chain above Andrea. At least she took some action this time. Looks like Dawn has grown from her previous experience. You don't have to be a Cochran fan to be happy for his win tonight. That was a truly impressive display of eating prowess.

Now that the favs have turned on each other, do you think the chances look better for the fans? What's a plausible cover story for Malcolm? Where do you see Brenda and Erik in the favs alliance? Is there still a chance they could flip? How do you think Malcolm and Reynold should play the OPIIs?

Here is the new, merged tribe after episode 8.
Madeline:Cochran, Dawn, Michael, and Phillip, Andrea, Brenda, Eddie, Erik, Malcolm , Reynold, and Sherri

Caramoan Episode 7 LF

There is nothing wrong with a nice big, bowl of vanilla survivor. According to the feedback this week, vanilla is the favorite flavor of quite a few fans here. Many of us are still waiting on Probst's promise for this to turn into a "great season". Malcolm's power alliance may hold the key. It will take more than four with a couple of OPIIs to take control of their own destiny, but the possibility of it happening left many of us hopeful. The merge will at least present an opportunity for the balance of power to shift.

For each episode, we provide 3 podcasts: an episode recap, an interview with the castoff, and a chance for Survivor fans like yourself to sound off on what you saw and how you think the castaways are fairing in the game. Twenty fans shared their thoughts on episode 7 and predictions for what we'll see next.

We want to thank and acknowledge everyone who contributed to another great Listener Feedback show. This week we heard from: Alice, Trey, Brian, Rashmi, Lil' Russ, Aaron, Barry, Drew, EMP, Josh, Jeremiah, Maria, Eric, Jen, Saundra, BrandonB, Jody, Mario, Michael, and Paul.

SFP Interview: Castoff from Episode 7 of Survivor Caramoan

This week we interviewed Julia Landauer. She left the game in episode 7 of Survivor Caramoan. With so many obnoxious, over the top characters to feature this season, the editors ended up relegating Julia to the infamous "Purple Kelly" edit. The double whammy came when she ended up in the cross-hairs of the Favs after the tribal shuffle.

Listen to this interview to hear how she prepared, why she initially targeted Dawn, how she felt about the things Cochran and Corrine said about her and lots more!

Caramoan Episode 7

It takes a lot of energy to maintain a delusion. This week, it looked like Phillip's fantasy world had really started to take a toll on him. It was a great testament to his strength that he lasted to day 17, but had he been forced to stay in separate tribes for much longer, it might have been the end of his game. Of course, that kind of weakness could become a strength at the merge when it does not pay to stand out as a physical threat. For all the time wasted on Phillip's charades, it was great to see underdog Malcolm make some progress on increasing his chances to make it to the end. What do you think about the possibility of that fantastic four making it to the end together?

Do you think Phillip threw the challenge, or is his world starting to fall apart a little? Who do you think will be impacted the most by the merge? Will anyone's chances to make it to the end dramatically improve? Will the Favs be able to hold it together? Who will win in the battle between Corinne and Phillip? How confident are you that Phillip is delusional? Would you get rid of Phillip or try to carry him to the end again as the perfect goat? With the merge imminent, who do you think will be the members of the dominant alliance?

Here are the tribes after episode 7.
New Bikal:Cochran, Corinne, Dawn, Michael, and Phillip
New Gota:Andrea, Brenda, Eddie, Erik, Malcolm , Reynold, and Sherri

Caramoan Episode 6 LF

It is clear from your response that we are all thrilled to have a normal Survivor episode back this week. Several of you had some interesting predictions for how it might play out from here. The consensus remains that the "fans" are doomed. Contrary to what we initially thought, the shuffle might not have been random at all. As observed by Jen, James and Paul, Probst offered the original Gota tribe what appears to be an suspiciously imbalanced set of eggs. Go back and take a closer look.

For each episode, we provide 3 podcasts: an episode recap, an interview with the castoff, and a chance for Survivor fans like yourself to sound off on what you saw and how you think the castaways are fairing in the game. Caramoan Episode 6

OK, it is high time to rescue this season. With Lazy and Crazy gone, we can get back to some classic Survivor goodness. It started with a random shuffling of the tribes. We tend to favor the schoolyard pick'em option because it also reveals a pecking order, but neither that nor random egg cracking can guarantee balanced tribes. These new tribes are about as far from balanced as you can get. It's not clear that the New Bikal tribe stands any chance of winning a physical or endurance challenge.

Who do you think will be impacted the most by the shuffle? Did anyone's chances to make it to the end dramatically improve? Will the Favs alliance hold strong across both new tribes? Who do you think will last longer: Reynold or Sherri? Will Phillip be successful in eliminating Corinne? Are Dawn and Cochran calling the shots at New Bikal? What would be your strategy for staying sane around Phillip?

Here are the tribes after episode 6.
New Bikal:Cochran, Corinne, Dawn, Julia, Michael, and Phillip
New Gota:Andrea, Brenda, Eddie, Erik, Malcolm , and Reynold, and Sherri

Caramoan Episode 5 LF

Up until now, a lot of us had a generally positive view of this season. We could overlook the wasted space that Shamar occupied and look forward. Unfortunately, Episode 5 and all the ugliness that occurred inside has shifted the majority opinion. While several people mentioned they liked this episode, the spectacle that became Brandon's exit has cast a bad perception on everything. He had been hyped from the NToS outburst for episode 1, but it was easy to overlook his threats. Episode 5 made him the sole focus of the show which equaled an unpleasant experience for some but not all. The great thing about our SFP community is that we love the show, have diverse life experience and a have combined that with our willingness to share that allows us to step back and look at what transpired through many lenses to help make sense of it all. Plus, we got a bonus bad boy crush confession from a fellow fan.

For each episode, we provide 3 podcasts: an episode recap, an interview with the castoff, and a chance for Survivor fans like yourself to sound off on what you saw and how you think the castaways are fairing in the game. Thirty four fans shared their thoughts on episode 5 and predictions for what we'll see next.
